A Walk Between Two Fires (2009)

Director: Mark Anderson

Tagline: Taking responsibility for your own life can be the hardest thing of all

Putting a human face to the criminal justice system, Colin Weetra tells of his past life of crime and what he is up against with his charges. He accepts he has done wrong and is preparing himself for the time he is going to have to serve.

He also talks about his family and the community work he has been doing, showing that you can come back from a bad place if you are prepared to work at it.

I was surprised to learn that the original interview footage was used as evidence in a court case, the film maker must have had to develop a strong relationship with Mr Weetra for him to be able to make the film.

An interesting documentary and a brave director for putting it on the screen.

Rating: 7/10
