Stanley Rainsford's Cherry Fields

Director: Michael Foster

Tagline: A great dance short

In this short a dance composition set in a hall is projected onto a man reading in his room.

Music is very important in dance and I enjoyed the music was used here (composed and performed by the director), as it went well with the dancing and the rest of the movie. The dancing on display here was different to the normal formal dancing. It seemed to follow the music more and many of the moves were really dramatic and unusual.

My favourite part of the dancing was when they all climbed up onto the stage via a handy ladder and then all fell down.

Having attempted to film several dance routines myself for friends I know how hard it is to get good footage that follows the action. Here they also make it harder for themselves by filming two scenes at once. I think it works out really well though.

Rating: 8/10
