BlackTalk

Director: Wayne Blair

Tagline: Old friends, good times and farting dogs

Two cousins meet at a family gathering after not seeing each other for many years.

They share their memories of their childhood together and what they have been doing since then.

An inevitable conflict occurs due to their sudden separation many years ago, but the two settle their differences in the end, or do they?

I really enjoyed this short due to the warmth and honesty of the main characters and the excellent performances delivered all round. Special mention must go to the dog, which provided great comic relief.

I liked the flashback sequences, as you could really believe that they events the friends talked about actually happened during their childhood.

The song at the end was really good as was the other music throughout the short.

I wish more short filmmakers would use music from local musicians as they would jump at the chance to do something like that.

This short comes highly recommended if you want to see a really great character study with some humour mixed in among the drama.
